The national typical hourly rate in 2021 is $17.50 per hour for nannies. When deciding how much to pay your nanny, it is important to set a competitive rate to attract the best caregivers. But there are lots of factors to think about when determining the cost of childcare.

Start by posting a job that details your needs for free on Lornaz Tender Care Inc. Your job will be shared with a community of available nannies. Interested nannies will apply directly to your job and you will be notified via email and on the platform. From there, conduct interviews with your favorites. Once you have narrowed your search, start vetting individual nannies by running background checks and checking references before the job officially starts.

You can find nannies for live-in, live-out, full-time, part-time, day or overnight care and many other needs. Nannies can help families with managing strict schedules, transportation to activities, homework help, last-minute coverage, date nights, and more.

While a child/babysitter only cares for your child part of the time, a Nanny is really involved with your child(s)’ wellbeing and development in a more wholistic way. Babysitters are short term care takers while the Nanny is a daily fixture. The Nanny will provide housework and are incredibly involved in the children(s)’ lives. As a Nanny, your responsibilities may include preparing meals, dressing, and bathing the children, arranging play dates, accompanying children with activities, and helping with schoolwork.

Typically, the more kids you are watching, the higher the rate will be. For instance, most sitters will add $2+ for each additional child. So, if the going rate for two kids in your neighborhood is $15 an hour, you could consider charging $17+ for three.
